Commission a Portrait created out of favorite scripture texts for yourself or a loved one.

These are original hand-drawn and painted art. They make a wonderful way to commemorate a special event, such as a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, Confirmation, Graduation, Anniversary, Birthday, etc. Can also be a special portrait for beloved clergy or a retirement tribute. Or portraits can hang in the office of a professional, such as a lawyer, CPA, financial advisor, doctor, etc. to help establish authority and trust.worthiness.

• The standard portrait is black and white on 8″x 10″ fine art paper.
• Portraits can also be on canvases, or larger sizes.
• Portraits may also be layered in front of one of Judy Rey’s Genesis Sunsets to indicate that the person depicted brought a new way of being, new understandings or beginnings into the world. This is true for many people, including beloved parents or grandparents.
• Each portrait is considered a single commissioned work.For example, an artwork to commemorate a wedding or special anniversary would be 2 portraits. These could be combined into 1 artwork of the couple, but the commission would be for 2 portraits initially.
• Archival fine art prints of the portraits can be made available. Thus, one set of grandparents can have an original, while the second enjoys a print.
• Each of these works is hand signed.portrait.
• Your portrait(s) can use a photograph provided by the collector-client or one taken by the artist.  This means that the portray of an older person can be of their younger self.
• Original art should always be considered to be an investment, although like any investment there cannot be any guarantee of financial gain.

Basic Cost for 8″ x 10″ black and white portrait on fine art paper is 3,500.00 for USA collectors. Additional costs for canvas, prints of the work, using a background sunset, etc. for the project will be discussed. [Note: collectors seeking to commission a portrait outside of the USA will incur different prices due to shipping costs, and limitations on any print sizes and costs, plus possible tariffs.]
To initiate the project a non-refundable deposit of $150.00 begins a detailed discussion (over the phone) and reserves a place in the current que. If the commission is accepted the deposit will be applied to the project.
Why the deposit?

1. Before we begin the artist and collector must be clear on their responsibilities and privileges, including all costs.
2. There may be additional fees for prints of the portrait. Often prints of the original portrait on fine art paper or canvas are sent to grandparents or other loved ones. A print may be added by a professional such as an attorney or clergy member, to hang on an office wall. These prints will also be signed, and perhaps numbered, which could increase their future value.
3.   For the artist this initial immediate cost greatly reduces dealing with spammers. and non-serious “buyers”.

The artist is in the Orlando FL area and can travel with a 10 mile radius of downtown Orlando or south from Disney to photograph a portrait subject without incurring travel and time expenses. Otherwise, the best alternative is for the commissioner of the portrait to provide photos.
