This artwork shows a loving and romantic pure white swan couple. The entire image was created using only strokes that are the original Torah font letters from the complete Song of Songs, also known as Solomon’s Song. This book is said to be the “Love Song of the Bible.”
The birds’ beaks show their natural orange with shading of reds and pinks, and their feathers shaded with cool violet hues. The water is depicted with blue and green strokes.
All of the scripture in the Hebrew Testament were and currently are chanted (sung) in Jewish synagogues and temples. Thus, the name for this book of the Bible, which is a romantic love song, but also a kind of parable depicting our love for our LORD God, and his love for us.
Some of my favorite romantic quotes from Song of Songs are:
1: 15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes.
2:4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.
2:10 My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
2: 16 My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.
3:10 How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!
7:6 How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights!
7:10 I am my beloved’s, and his desire is toward me.
There are pairs of pure white swans in each lake, pond or sheltered cove off a lake, where I live. Swans mate for life, They are almost always together, the male and the female, followed in the summer by their cygnets.
A Romantic Scripture painting for Valentine’s Day, Weddings, Engagements, or Anniversaries to share or give to your loved one as a gift or to decorate your place with the Bible.
How many hearts can you find hidden in this artwork?
